Service was a little slow but we were outside and they were pretty busy. Unbelievable food for the price though. Can’t speak highly enough. We had lunch and can’t wait to come back for more. Great selection of local brews too.

This is my favorite place in town to eat. They always have great specials, and they always use fresh local seafood. When they can they also use fresh local veggies too!
Excellent Choice in Cape Charles. I ate at The Shanty last night for dinner with my husband and another couple. It was my first time dining there, and it was a wonderful experience. Our server Adria, was the best! The food was excellent, very fresh and delicious. I had the broiled flounder, which I was told was locally caught and never frozen. It was served over yummy cheesy grits. My husband and one of our friends had the mac & cheese, which is made to order with three different cheeses and available with your choice of meat or shrimp. My other friend had the yellowfin tuna special, which also looked fresh and yummy. We were all more than satisfied, and I definitely plan to return to The Shanty.

Good food, friendly staff, few beers on tap including some local craft brews. Seared tuna, crab cakes, and calamari were all great. Sunset views are amazing. Come by boat, bike, or car. Had live band FRI and SAT night. Will go again.
