Good BBQ Large Portions. A line out the door and down the street says it all.
Had my suspicions about this place for a while. The last few times I went there and ordered a pound of pulled pork (always take out) I weighted it. 3/4 lb every time. You WILL be ripped off. Guaranteed.
Tasteless and a pain to find. I had high hopes for this BBQ, and yet they were crushed almost immediately. Difficult to find, and once there finding parking is even worse. No locations to sit, but that is fine; it’s part of the ambiance of the Belmont eateries (which, by the way, is quite phenomenal). The food is by my account expensive (6 ribs and a side for $25? You can get more for less and better taste at Chile’s. The Ribs were extremely fatty, with every bite filled with grease. Nasty. The taste comes completely from smoke, and it is weak at that. I could not discern a rub, so apparently the cooks relied upon smoke and fat for the taste of their product. This is not a good idea. The beans were basically chili; good but unexpected for a Memphis/Carolina hybrid style of cooking. Slaw, like the ribs, was utterly tasteless. The best part about this experience? The stuffed Jalapeno poppers. Excellent!!! All in all, I would NOT come back here again.
Average. Pork was average, slaw was good but I did not like the beans at all. This place gets some of the best reviews of the town which makes me leery to try the others.
Pulled pork!. Belmont bbq continues to get better and better. this is some of the best pulled pork i’ve ever had, and i grew up in bbq country. really great stuff. hope they can keep putting it out like this!
While the pulled pork was ok, the fries were soggy and the slaw was awful.
