Good Skill. Bluegrass grill does a great breakfast. The chef thinks outside the box and you find some great flavors and combinations on the menu. Never disappointed with the food. You’ll find things like avocado hollandaise on your perfectly poached eggs- really good flavors. Very down to earth atmosphere and the service is usually OK- worth the wait if you like a good breakfast.

A memorable breakfast is worth a little wait. Breakfast/brunch options on the weekend offer something unique and while I enjoyed both the vegetarian hash and stuffed omelet (with peaches and cream) that we ordered, it was the whole wheat biscuits that inspired me to write a review. Big, fluffy and perfect on their own, they were perfect to sopping up the last few bites of our meal and made you feel good. – – Cash only and dont expect privacy, as the tables are very close together and there isnt much at all of a waiting area. Youll need to find parking a block or two away and dont be bashful about putting your name on the list. Mostly 2- or 4-top seating, there is plenty of natural light with the big front windows. Casual atmosphere that attracts a variety of customers. – – Breakfast on a weekend means youll be waiting in line; I certainly wouldnt recommend sticking it out for more than 20 minutes, so if you think youll have to wait 30 minutes to an hour, just plan to come back another day. Bluegrass did supply a delicious meal and straightforward service, so I certainly will recommend it for people to try, if the timing is right. Consider Bluegrass the antithesis of Bodos, yet still at home in the same college town.

It’s kind of weird checking-in: there’s a notepad at the from of the restaurant where u sign in. There was a little bit of a wait for a Thursday at 1030. But we lucked out and sat at the bar. There’s only a few people working in this really small area and the older lady does play around. The food was really good for the price. I def would go there again

Why on earth do people like it?. I’m astounded that so many people will wait in line forever to get into this place. The food is mediocre at best, and the biscuits are truly awful–big, flavorless, bready and nothing at all like the real biscuits of the south. On the other hand, its popularity *does* draw people away from other, better places so they’re easier to get into.

A must stop. Every I get to Charlottesville the Bluegrass Grill is on the agenda. I was hooked on their dreamy blintzes for several visits, but today deviated from that pattern with corned beef hash. Unlike the comforting ground mushy stuff I was expecting, this was a stringy, peppery, charred onion plate of complete deliciousness. Big chunks of potatoes, pulled corned beef, plenty of salt and pepper…and those chewy, deep browned onions that are the sign of a great grill. Service can be slow – the kitchen is small and hungry are many, but it is worth the wait.NOISE alert – it can very hard to hear your companion when the joint is hopping.

Wow… Potatoes number 5. Amazing combination — every ingredient perfect. I would come here anytime!
