The kitchen and front of house is under new management.(Yay) Pizzas are delicious, great beers on tap and a fun wine list. Happy hour is the best deal in CVille! Where else can you get half price drafts and Pizza Monday through Friday. New manager is super friendly and will go out of her way to help. They also are supporting our health care workers this month by offering 10 % off the bill.I will definitely go back.
Fry’s Spring Station – take two. So I recently returned to FSS, this time not for dine in, but for take out. Their online order feature was not working, so I called the restaurant for 2 small salads and 2 pizzas. Ease of ordering was fine, and the food would be ready in 15-20 mins. We had never ordered take out there, and the host seemed a little abrupt in telling us we pick up take out orders at the bar – as if we were immediately supposed to know that? Paying for the food was fine, but there MUST be a better way to handle take out orders rather than having customers awkwardly take up space around the bar. Another awkward aspect was that I saw my take out order completely plated (on ceramic plates) as if it were an in house order. It just seemed like they weren’t totally with it. Additionally waiters (apparently they have NO female wait staff…) seemed brusque and mechanical. My roommate and I didn’t feel particularly welcomed there. The atmosphere was joyless (as was the food).Salads were ok (spinach and pear/Gorgonzola). Pizza – not as good. I got a garden pizza which had grossly unripe Roma tomatoes on it as well as raw/supremely crunchy green bell pepper strips. Not exactly an elegant ingredient, especially when it was prepared in such a way that made me believe it hadn’t even been baked with the rest of the pizza.Oh well. Maybe next time we’ll stick to Dominos where we’ll actually get a better monetary value plus service with a SMILE.24 Oct, 2014This restaurant is FINE. Not great, but ok. We had crab dip (very rich, perhaps too rich for an appetizer). I had the mushroom pasta – there were huge pieces of raw tasting garlic in it that made it hard to eat. My friend had a margherita pizza which he liked. Service wasn’t amazing, but we were there at an off time so it wasn’t a big deal. Not my favorite restaurant in Cville, but I will probably go back. I do not reccommend the mushroom pasta.
Not goot in the least – don’t waste your time and money. In brief: The food is mediocre and well overpriced for what you get. The outdoor chairs are death traps. The service was horrid – from the server to the back-waiter. Indeed, the food/price thing could be redeemed by some price adjustments and then it might be worth going despite the food not being stand-out; however, the service is unredeemable. The waiter was dismissive, inattentive, a unprofessional.
The pizza is okay, but the pasta simply isn’t up to par. Every sauce I’ve had there is greasy and separating by the time it reaches my table.
We loved it! My family of four had the meatball appetizer and two pizzas. Everything was brought out quickly and tasted delicious. We felt comfortable there having our two small boys with us. The restaurant was well staffed and it was nice to see management floating around.
Horrible. Worst food, bad atmosphere, no parking, management does not know what they’re doing. Don’t waste your time.
Good casual menu, with something for everyone. The pizza was uninspired, but we enjoyed the paninis. The biggest negative is the lack of parking and atmosphere.
