In a town like Charlottesville, where there are so many great, independent bakeries producing artisan bread, I would not recommend anyone spending $8 a loaf for mediocre chain-bakery bread. It just doesn’t make sense. If you live in or are visiting Cville, take advantage of the independent, local establishments instead – we are blessed to have so many of them! You’ll get a better quality product and save money at the same time.
So good. Fresh and tasty. We stopped in as we were passing through. Sandwiches were great. Tried the tuna and pimento cheese sandwiches. The turtle cookie was yummy. They offered samples as soon as you walked in. The smell of yummy goodness hits you at the door. Staff was very friendly. We got two loaves of bread to go. We WILL BE BACK. We are big foodies! Can’t say anything bad about the place.

Do not waste your time/money/perfectly good appetite on this place. Maybe I’m picky ( my husband a chef) but I do know what I’m talking about!
The best bakery without a doubt!. The owners are a hard-working tag team that create incredible, mouthwatering foods & a friendly environment. This place is worth many miles of traveling! I’ve made the road trip twice from Knoxville, TN because it is that good!
Best bakery, hands down. My sister and I have traveled twice now to Charlottesville to visit Great Harvest and the beautiful city, and we plan to visit as often as we can. I have loved everything that I have eaten including the sandwiches, granola, and sweet and savory breads. One of my many favorite items is the Jalapeo Scuffin-the texture is fantastic and flavor spot on. I love Great Harvest, and I definitely recommend it to everyone.
