My below review still stands, but I did want to note that the owner/chef contacted me, apologized, and refunded the cost of the cake. In spite of our experience, I would give them another try because I really appreciate the owner’s response. The cake was a one but the owner is much better than the cake. We ordered a coconut rum cake from here for my daughter’s birthday because Paradox had gotten good reviews. I’d have done better to have gotten one from a box. Worst cake ever. When you tried to get a bite, the cake was so dry it crumbled off your fork. No one could eat it.

Finally a late night dessert place!. We have often said it would be great to have a late night dessert place in the C’ville downtown mall area. Here it is- just off the mall in the Glass building next to the Bluegrass Grill. The place is awesome- coffee in a French press and great dessert- we can never just buy one so we get a sampling and bring a couple home so far are favorites are the Coconut pie, blueberry lemon hand pie, key lime pie, brownie and the Guinness chocolate cake- oh and don’t forget the flourless chocolate cake- difficult to say what is better the cake or the amazing vanilla cream sauce that comes with it! They are open until 10pm on Fridays or Saturdays! YEAH!
