Just had the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf. Which was even better than the ham and pepper jelly sweet potato buscuits. New menu is awesome and props to Chef Chris Humphries.
Overpriced and discourteous. I went in for a pint with my wife on a Monday afternoon. We tried a couple of beer samples we were not familiar with and talked to the bartender for a few minutes. When she served us our beers and we had paid the extremely overpriced $13.50 for two beers she proceeded to inform us that in 10 minutes all draft beers would be half off. I think most people would have appreciated knowing this and I feel as though it was very rude of our server to not ask if we would rather wait 10 minutes for happy hour prices.
I have eaten brunch here twice now and think the food is very good. There is something slightly off about the attitude of the service, not bad per se, just a little edge. Kitchen was creatively accommodating to a special request.
Overpriced, glacial service. Avoid the rich description wormhole. The crab cake sounded delectable but it’s one good crab cake – real crab, not a ton of bread- but it’s only one for $19. Briefly, the portions are small for the cost. The bathrooms are disgusting for a 13-22 dollar a plate restaurant. I never got the second $6 beer I ordered and the draft selection isn’t reliable. Beers appear to be there but aren’t actually available. My advice: have a long time, order a burger or pub food and a pitcher of pbr.
This is my first review of a restaurant but please understand that I am a very accurate critic of food as I travel a lot and try to find the local spots wherever I go. I will only write about the dish I had because it is unfair for me to comment on anything else. I had the gumbo. It was below amateur. It was so heavy on the cream sauce that it was as if it came out of a can. They also tried to disguise its flavor by making it more spicy than necessary. It was a bland, boring, and disappointing dish. If you’re like me, you take your meals seriously. Don’t worry I’m not some fatso who lives to eat. That’s why I am writing actually. I take my meals seriously because I make myself earn them. I have high expectations. I want to eat GOOD food when I eat. This was so far from good that I am actually upset about coming here. Again I cannot comment on anything else on the menu. And I don’t really care about service or atmosphere because if your food is good, then that stuff doesn’t really matter. You’ll have a successful restaurant no matter what if your food is good. My meal was not good. It was far from good. I DO NOT recommend this place.
Got there early for a weekday lunch and the service was good. The sandwiches are HUGE! I’ll go back when in town again.
So much potential but squandered on very bland food and overly stressed servers who are too busy to check on on you or give refills. Great location and funky clientele but lacking in flavor.
