Best Sushi in town hands-down. If you like sushi and your stuck in middle of nowhere Virginia, this is a good place to visit. Visited this place in November with a couple of friends after having a Sushi craving. We ordered a variety of dishes ranging from appetizers to desserts and the overall experience was good. Appetizers: Tried a Ten salad, it was ok, and not worth the 10 dollars. Main dish: Initially I tried different sushi rolls and did not see the value. Very expensive and were just ok. After starting to doubt that this place was any good, I got to try Tuna Sushi and this was worth every cent. Fish was very fresh and of very high quality. Desserts: Delicious, the three of us ordered different desserts and all of them were delicious. Portion size is just right.Throughout the experience the service was just OK, slow, but the food makes up for it.Overall, I recommend this restaurant for people looking for the best Sushi in town. If you do go here dont waste time and money on the sushi rolls, go for the sashimi or nigiri.
Exceeds expectation!. Highly recommend
Not our favorite place anymore. TEN used to be our spot- our favorite place in Cville and where we celebrated anything special. We didn’t used to hesitate dropping $300 here because we loved it so much and it was always FANTASTIC and a special treat. However, went here in December 2013 and hadn’t been since late summer and I dont know what changed, but the Lobster tempura which used to be amazing was gross and chewy and there was WAY too much sauce. the wagyu for the harami garlic was so chewy we had to spit it all out, literally every piece. our sipcy toro and tiger roll where not nearly as good as usual, not much filling and messily topped. our sashimi was okay, but not nearly as fresh as usual and our server had no idea what kind we were given. dont know what happened but we were so disappointed! we won’t be back again!
Spicy tuna was too spicy CA…. Spicy tuna was too spicyCA rolls were large and tastyGood atmosphere Reasonably priced beer
BEST SUSHI IN TOWN!. We had not even thought about trying this place since we heard it was over priced and not that good, we had always gone to Tokyo Rose across town. The other weekend though we had family in town and they wanted to try it so we did and we were very impressed- the decor was great, very clean, service was perfect and the food was amazing! This place is our new favorite sushi place and so much closer to home too!
Wonderful place. The rock shrimp was an outstanding start and transported me back to Nobu in NYC. Following that, every one of the sushi and tempura dishes were wonderful, and the service was friendly and efficient. Beautiful surroundings, cool music; the place hits on all cylinders and has a great vibe. Highly recommended!
In response to Ana. The chef who worked in the kitchen has changed, although the sushi chef is the same as when they opened. My wife and I travel quite a bit and are picky when choosing sushi places (especially so inland), and we find the quality of fish outstanding. I have had many of the cooked dishes from the kitchen and haven’t been disappointed once. I recommend the tempura, namely the calamari and the lobster (soo good!). I would strongly disagree with Ana’s statement based on my experiences. The food at Ten is delicious all around. If you are looking for a great sushi spot in Charlottesville, I strongly recommend Ten.
