I wasn’t blown away by this place, and I’m not convinced the food is worth the $$$. However, I do appreciate having a local Thai/Thai-American alternative.

Mixed Thoughts. Love Thai food and this place is OKish. We usually order take out and stick to the pork pad thai and spring rolls/steamed dumplings. Have eaten inside a few times and not very impressed with the service or atmosphere. If you need a quick thai fix and live in the area, then go for it. Not a food destination that’s for sure.
Not good. Our first trip to Thai ’99 was during the dinner hours and we had ordered one of the curry dishes and pad se eew, they turned out to be okay. This time we went during their lunch hours and ordered their pad thai and panang curry from the lunch menu. Very disappointed…..the pad thai lacked flavor and was too saucy – not what i had expected. And the panang curry…..didn’t have the peanuts!! Was too soupy and also lacked the big flavor I was craving..probably will never go back.
Poor Service and Over Charging. Though the food is fine, but the service was horrible and we were still overcharged. Not only did we receive food after people who came in after us, but we did not receive our drinks until 20 minutes after we received our food and 15 minutes after we had to go up and ask for our drinks. When we got up to ask for our drinks, we also saw a friend there who arrived there only 10 minutes before and already had the very drink we had ordered. Not only that, but we asked for chopsticks from a waiter which one would think is a simple task, but he takes 10 minutes to bring us our chopsticks which was also only after we got up to ask for them again. We were already annoyed and were discussing what to leave as tip considering the poor service. But low and behold. We were aware that there is an automatic 18% tip charge when there are more than 5 people dining, but we were three people and they charged us that extra 18% tip which we did not notice until we got home. And no they did not mistake us as having a larger group because we walked up and stood at the counter as she charged us. I forgot why I had opted to go to Limeleaf for over a year and now I remember all too clearly.
Non Authentic. Went there based on C’ville 2009 rankings and found the food very unremarkable. Am from South east asia, so am very familiar with Thai food. Service was average, Tom yum was too sweet and lacked the seafood and lemongrass. Red duck curry was bland and duck tasted stale. Fried prawn cakes were good but shockingly, they did not have fresh cut chili! Can’t imagine a real Thai having a meal without fresh chili.
If you like bland cuisine cooked In five minutes without any care to make it taste decent, then you found the right place. Worst Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to.
