I’ve read many poor reviews, but never personally had a bad experience. Tonight we decided to try the restaurant again, after about 2 years. We were severly disappointed. We were seated right away. The restaurant was less than 50% full. After waiting 15 minutes we left without anyone approaching us, we said goodbye to the hostesses who were oblivious despite our leaving the menus on the table. I recalled after we left, that we had called in advance and given our name and number. But no call to apologize. Again, the staff seems to have been completely oblivious. I’m honestly disappointed, as I think Amber Lantern could be one of the premier restaurants in Great Bridge if under the right management.

I have been here several times and each time was more enjoyable than the last. My server, Amanda, is thoroughly knowledgeable about the selections and just wonderful. Chef Muroni is talented and kind. Had the brie and oysters for appetizers – STELLAR. I had the rack of lamb and my mom had the stuffed shrimp. It was perfectly seasoned and succulent. Kudos for another excellent dinner.

Dinner. Excellent place! The place was very inviting and comforting. Staff was wonderful and friendly. Kelli was our waitress and was very nice. Food was devine! Husband had the pork chops ( had a taste..excellent flavor and tender!) And I had the Filet Mignon – Very tender, with a great flavor. Of course we would come back!
Awesome. Amber Lantern is one of my favorite restaurants! I have been going there for years and always bring out of town guests there. The fried oysters and scallop appetizers are amazing. The service is always excellent and the best dessert in Hampton Roads is the Lemon berry Mascarpone Cake!!!! I wish they were open for lunch for our monthly Ladies Lunch.
WOW! Every Morsel was INCREDIBLE!. I don’t know how to rave enough about this experience. From the appetizers, to the wine, to the dinner, to the incredible dessert and wonderful port, the chef and his team nailed every aspect of dinner. The service was excellent – we had a fantastic girl named Breanna. I tried really hard not to lick the plate with my Tomato Mozzarella Tower (a wonderful caprese), my Mediterranean Chicken was succulent, with crisp, fresh seasonal veggies, and beautifully balanced herbal seasoning, and holy moly, don’t get me started on my LemonBerry Marscapone, that paired with a Tawny Port like they were made for each other… Wow, talk about a hidden gem…YOU HAVE GOT to visit The Amber Lantern!!
