I went because of reviews. Mistake! Waitress mixed up the food order. Chef was just blah. Chef was messy on food delivery. Chef didn’t check to make sure order was correct. Chicken was plain and dry instead of being chicken teriyaki. Another customer at the table, asked for melted butter for her lobster and got melted butter poured all over her plate instead of in a cup. Manager was apologetic and gave gift certificates for 15-30 dollars depending on the amount of the bill and a round of drinks. For the amount money that is spent. This is unacceptable! I will not be returning.
Really good food and friendly staff. This is a good place to take a date or just to have a good time. I would recommend it to a friend.
Awful. Our Miso was not hot. The salad dressing was blah. My hubby ordered his steak medium and it was served rare at best. The rice is nothing special either. We will not be going back.
Awesome Rolls. I can’t speak for the hibachi here because I have only came to eat sushi, but my husband and I have loved it! We haven’t had any issues or bad experiences here, and the staff has been very nice. On busy nights, expect to wait a bit longer than usual…but that’s pretty standard at most restaurants.
Mixed Review. I went here because of all the reviews …over Kyoto where I have been before … mistake.- waitstaff okay – she hung out in front of the stove so it was hard to ask her questions when I was far away from her – I shouldn’t have to yell across a table – go to each person individually — our chef was blah. no fire… didn’t really seem involved – maybe he was having a bad day — I think their Groupon should have more expensive options – if you go with 6 people, only one person can use the Groupon – not really much of a deal then- food was tasty – well prepared-she had to take my phone to authorize the Groupon – not good – she went away for quite awhile before returning with it…. just not ideal to me. I’d rather have walked with her -Don’t think I’ll go again unless I have a Groupon and it’s just with one other person.
Kinda blah, nothing special. Sushi is fair, the miso soup is ALWAYS not warm enough. It needs to be served at 160 degrees to kill bacteria.The hibachi section is the same as anywhere else. It’s just fried rice where you have to watch the cook prepare it and set it afire.
Always have a great meal. I have been to many Japanese steak houses and Geisha is as good as any I have been to. I find it better than other local Japanese restaurants in Chesapeake. Food is always fresh, tasty, and cooked perfectly. The chefs listen to you when you have a request, the wait staff is attentive. We have also sat on the sushi side. While I am not a big sushi fan, my husband enjoys it and always orders it when we go to Geisha and has never had a complaint.
