Eating there as i write this. Food was good, service was deplorable. Go to any other pho 79 restaurant. Order was late wrong and asking for a refill of soda was like asking a stranger for their kidney, awkward and ignored. I would rather ride in the bilge of a containership, all the way to Vietnam to get pho, then return to this location. Or go to the one in Ghent.

Phoshizzle is the bomb! Awesome restaurant.

First and last try for pho. The service was terrible. They messed up the to go order and were very rude and rushed us to put in our order. The food itself was bland and had no flavor. it was $30 for 2 people and I would have been happier with a dollar burger. This probably ranks up there with some of the blandest worst food I have ever had. I wouldn’t wast my time or money on this one.

This is actually the only place in the Hampton Roads area I will go to for the Vietnamese Food . I’ve tried a few other places around the area and was very disappointed. I have several favorite items I like to get but the grilled beef sandwich is my favorite for a quick lunch. Everything I’ve had from here has always been delicious. The restaurant is almost always busy/packed. It’s also always clean and I’ve never had any problems with the staff. I say this because I see that a few bad reviews were left about this place. I will admit there have been a few times that I’ve gone and they couldn’t make my order because they ran out of something specific. But I do keep in mind it’s a busy restaurant and that the food is actually good – it happens! I just ordered something else and ended up with a new fav to add to my list. Try it out- you will not be disappointed !

Not for me & my family. Aside from it being REALLY loud, everything looked fine. I must be honest I didn’t dig it. Not because they did anything incorrectly, I’m simply not a soup with noodles in it kind of guy. If you’re into that, you should enjoy it. For me, I won’t be back.

BEWARE – MSG. THEY USE MSG IN THEIR BROTH. BEWARE.

Good enough.. I didn’t try the namesake soup, but got some sort of fried tofu with a strong lemongrass flavor. It was fine, as were the vegetarian egg rolls. Service was spotty, however, and it took longer than I would have expected to get served during the lunch hour. Other tables were receiving their food more quickly, so it might be my fault for not ordering something more popular and more easily put together. It was a generally positive experience, though, especially if grading on the Chesapeake curve.
