The first time going to Surf Rider was an amazing experience, food was excellently prepared and the staff was attentive. HOWEVER, when returning with another family and telling them of the great food and service this place fell flat on its collective face. There were empty tables – cleaned and available – other people came in after us with same sized or larger parties and they were seated first. The only difference was 3 children on our party. The food was servedin a substandard and sloppy way and when plates were placed on table some itemsfell off the plate onto the table and the server shrugged. Service took forever and the kids started squirming and wanting food. It took forever and many times attempting to wave down server, but totally ignored. Quality was lacking, some of the seafood was burnt. Some tasted old and stale. Would not recommend this place if we’re the last seafood restaurant in Chesapeake. Don’t waste your time or money.
