Love this cute place. Been back a few times. Everything I’ve had was good. Classic and healthy stuff. They have blue plate specials. Yumm!

First visit today for lunch – new to the area. Food was great and the service was better. Will definitely return, with my wife.

Poor service. The place was emplty yet the waitrees appeard to keep pushing for us to leave so she could clear the table. The place was only like half full. She never came by to check on us other that to ask if we needed a box (While we were still eating) and to drop off the check. Felt very rushed.

Hit or Miss. After hearing nothing but praise for the Hill Cafe, we decided to stop in for brunch. The menu consisted of typical brunch fare. The Fried Green Tomato BLT sounded interesting but I settled on the Spanish Omelet while my companion went with the standard Eggs Benedict. My Spanish Omelet was more like a scramble but was tasty none the less. The Benedict however was dreadful. The ham slices were TINY. The poached eggs were overdone but still managed to arrive at the table with broken yolks. The yolks had the consistency on melted and congealed yellow crayon. The hollandaise (or lack there of) was dried out and indicated that the dish was obviously sitting under heat lamps for some time. I do have to give Hill Cafe credit for serving realistic portions which neither left you hungry or in need of a to-go box. Ill have to try this place again to get a better idea of what they can serve.

Try Not to Have Fun Here. Easily my favorite hill-inspired cafe in all of Richmond. Awesome food. Great place to have fun. Eat (crab cakes), drink (their bloodies during brunch) and be merry (maybe get a drunk in public during daytime hours?). That’s about all I have to say about that.
