Bakeshop is one of my favorite places to grab a snack and a sip. It’s tucked away in a quieter part of Clarendon, but still walk-able from wherever you might be forced to park. My favorite part of Bakeshop is their Macaron selection. They are bright , sweet, and the perfect after dinner dessert. I never leave with less than a half dozen, and at $2/ea its a steal. I would definitely recommend cotton candy and raspberry – the rose ones are good too… hell, they are all delicious. Last time I was there I also grabbed a Vietnamese iced coffee, and while delicious was a little weak and on the sweet side. The shop is small but there is plenty of light and ample seating inside or out on the benches. If you’re going to sit there, get the ice cream sandwich – eat and drink there, then save the macarons for home.

AMAZING!!! My husband and I went here after it was recommended to us by a friend, and I was in love. So much better than any cupcake place I have ever gone. Also, the banana pudding and bread pudding are to die for. Definitely try this place out.
I loved this place!!! Arrived in DC with all of the cupcake rage about the other place. I went there and waited, and waited, and waited….and they were just okay. But these cupcakes, the cookies-amazing! Coming from a pastry arts major, it takes a lot to wow me-and I was blown away. Great food, great service-can’t wait to get back!!!
I love this place. The cupcakes are great and the staff is so sweet. It’s a mom and pop type place as opposed to the chain style ones in the area.

I really wanted to like this place, but I can’t recommend it. The service was friendly and efficient, but the prices are way too high for what you actually get. I ate half of a macaroon and one bite of a cupcake before I threw both of them away. Too bad, because the concept of a neighborhood bakery is one I was hoping to support. Cupcake preference is a personal thing, but I can think of a couple of places that are infinitely better.
