N.Y. pizza my eye . I’m a N.Yer from Manhattan, raised in Brooklyn and this pizza falls very , very short of what N.Y. pizza should be. It lacks sauce and cheese . To me pizza is about the sauce since all mozzarella cheese taste the same . the sauce is what give the pizza that unique taste and proper consistency of the dough. The dough is stretched way too thin, thinner than usual. IMHO. When I want pizza … I leave Arlington and go back to my roots in N.Y. to eat pizza!
This goes to prove that a particular pizzaria can be NY style and still be average. I don’t get the point of it but it is what it is. You are better off down the street at Pete’s Apizza, which happens to be New Haven Style but better. Or Pupatella, just outside Ballston, which is Italian pizza. Regardless, all of these are better than Mario’s or Goody’s pizza. dcfud.com
Disappointing. Having grown up in the shadow of NY, I always am looking for a good NY slice. Unfortunately, Bronx Pizza does not fit this bill. Just tried it for the first time and to be honest it was pretty bland. The crust was underwhelming as well. Despite being a jumbo slice it did not fold well either. In the future I will continue to stick with the Italian Store or Goody’s when I want pizza.
