Citizen Burger Great place to have a beer.. food was okay Food- 3/5Drinks- 3.5/5Service -3/5Ambiance -3/5VFM – 3/5I visited with a friend for a quick bite and drinks on a Sunday evening. The place was around one fourth occupied.Seating options are comfy couches and normal chairs and bar stools as well…We opted for the couch They didnt have almost half the beer options mentioned on their menu available that day…My friend is a fan of IPA but that too out of the 3-4 varieties in the menu, only the double IPA was available..Ordered the sameI went for a cocktail – dont remember the name but it was red in colour..They have Happy hours discount on the Sunday as well.Beer at $2 off per glass and selected cocktails at $5…Beer was good.Cocktail was okish. We went for the Southern in burgers. It was served with a side of Citizen fries the burger was okish, stuffed with pimento cheese, beef patty, mustard, tomato, iceberg lettuce and bacon in a brioche bun at $ 15 it was a bit pricey but quite filling! The hand cut French fries were yummy…Service was slow and twice our server forgot our order, once with my cocktail and second time with the beer repeat the place wasnt even crowded. Plus we were sitting at the table just next to the bar counter and bartender I had to glare at our server to remind her about our order…Prices without happy hours are high.. burgers are expensive considering there is no dearth of places in Arlington serving delicious burgers Our total bill was around $ 40-45 even after the happy hour offers…
This looked really promising but after order my usual go-to in terms of burgers, The Wild Mushroom & Swiss, I realized that these burgers are of an unreasonable size. It’s too much for one meal and while tasty, I don’t like to waste food. I know, I know, I can take it home but after the burger gets soggy, who wants to carry that around? Anyway, good beer, great service, but portion sizes need to be trimmed. Not every place needs to be the Cheesecake Factory. foodnomad.net
