If you’re looking for a dark and cozy atmosphere, a great selection of beers, and something to much on you should absolutely check out Galaxy Hut. With and eclectic and extensive selection of beers and food for all (they offer some vegan options), its a great location to go if you want to introduce a friend to the Arlington scene. The space is a little tight and often the music too loud (I do like to hear the conversation I am part of) – but that’s not a serious complaint for a bar. They do have an outdoor area, but I have yet to see it (i usually don’t make it back there before finding a seat).

Great Little Local Place. Oh, Galaxy Hut. I wrote an article about you for On Tap once a long, long time ago. In that article, I told everyone they should be going there because it had enormous potential, and was just a great great place to hang out in general, grab GOOD beers, and eat DELICIOUSLY vegetarian-friendly bar-food. Indie-yuppie-hipster paradise! Now, as a direct and undeniable result of my free advertising, it would seem they’re experiencing customer overload these days. See, Galaxy Hut is unfortunately VERY small, especially in the winter months (when customers can’t utilize the outdoor patio area).I think it’s a great place to go for a drink during the week, but on the weekends, it’s just not the best place for a claustraphobic ex-smoker like myself.Don’t get me wrong… if you can catch it on a slower night or during the early-evening hours, when you can actually hear the sound of the oscillating fans blowing on-top of the music coming from the ipod, you’ll see what drew me there initially.Selfishly, I hope business stays slow during the week so that I can continue to experience it the way I used to.The owner is a great guy who supports local and (usually) quality touring-bands (yes! they fit bands in there!) the right way.
