Disastrous Experience last night. What a complete disaster! What started out to be a lovely birthday celebration of 12 ended up being a complete and total disaster because of the manager you had on duty last night! It was without a doubt the worst 800.00 I have ever spent!
If German food and French cuisine started making out.. I went here with a date not long ago and the whole meal was sehr magnifique! The place is very popular, but not overbearingly crowded and it has a sultry continental vibe to its ambience. The food was all excellent. We shared the pretzel appetizer, which was this massive square foot of buttery crispy goodness that was only enhanced by a silky beer cheese dipping sauce. For my main I had the escargot and steak tartare. These are my two favorite bistro cuisine dishes, and these were some of the best examples I’ve consumed. The snails came out au gratin covered mostly in cheese than the usual butter, and the tartare was super fresh with just enough caper and an egg yolk that made it a wonderfully delicious mess. I almost wish I kept some of that pretzel to act a vessel for the other two dishes. The only dig I have on the place is the bathroom. The hand sinks are this interesting…common room. Trust me, its weird.
Generous and always good moules!
Creative food with nice accents of sauces. Good service and nice atmosphere. I like the sausage and hash, small portion but great quality. Desert was fun and drinks were very strong 😉
Ugh……. The inside is kind of drab but gray paint tends to be that way. It was clean and the service was excellent. The food was not. The bread that was served was doughy and slightly raw. The frankfurter was on a piece of sandwich bread (like when your mom ran out of buns and just used break from a loaf laying around). The craut on the frankfurter was GROSSS!! The side salad was warm and slimy. I went across the street to 7-11 right after ang got some M7M’s to get the taste of lunch at Lyon Hall out of my mouth. FAIL!!!
Spaetzleicious. I was curious and determined to try the modern-looking new restaurant with the neon-blue sign. The menu posted outside looked french and german-inspired, and i was admittedly won over when I saw one of my favorite yet rarely eaten foods on the menu, and possibly one of my favorite words to say: spaetzle. Though closed on Mondays and a 2 hour wait sans reservation any other day, the anticipated meal was well worth it. They conveniently offer half portions of spaetzle and dumplings, pefect, considering saving room for the frog legs, rabbit proscuitto and various other intriguing items on the menu. Small, thoughtful and extremely flavorful small portions work well here, leaving you feeling satisfied, but not overstuffed.
