Sadly Disappointed. I grew up near Mario’s and have been going here for the Lefty’s steak & cheese for the last 45 years. It was the fresh sliced ribeye that made this the best steak & cheese I’ve ever eaten. I went there yesterday for a Lefty’s Special made by Lefty himself and sadly the new owners have decided to cut costs and royally screw up a great Arlington tradition. Now instead of the fresh sliced ribeye they are using some sort of frozen steak-um like product. It’s just terrible!! I would drive from Manassas, VA on a regular basis just for a taste of that awesome sandwich but now I wouldn’t walk across the street for one! BRING BACK THE SLICED RIBEYE!!!!

Awful service, awful pizza. The pizza was bland and halfway burnt. Also, I called in my order, arrived 15 minutes later and they still had NOT placed my pizza in the oven…So, the service was absolutely atrocious and the young guy who took my order was quite rude to me on the phone. He also was no help when I asked about my pizza and why it was taking so long. I nearly left and SHOULD have left! It was an all around depressing experience.
Best steak sub. This place is a great take out. The only thing that could even make it better if there were seats inside to set down and eat. This is strickly a take out place but you can’t top the food and the amount you get. I have been back at least three times since I have found this place and will return again and again.
I have been eating at Mario’s since the late 1970’s. The pizza and subs are awesome. Lefty and Joe have been there since I startedeating there. Although I now live in Fairfax, when I want a great pizza or sub, I make my way to Mario’s in Arlington. Big thumbs up!
AWFUL!! BEWARE!!!. First off, the pizza is mediocre. Second I went to this establishment out of being desperate due to it being 11pm and just wanting to pick up a slice. Well I park out front of their building and go in to get a couple of slices, so no more than 5 minutes. While inside, my car is towed down the street, obviously my car was watched. So BEWARE!!! As many of you may know many of the companies that offer this kind of service get a cut of the $115 towing fee! Unless you are walking or cabing or complete desperate and park on the street at a parking meter, DO NOT support this establishment!
