OK, not great. Nice atmosphere and really good service. But food was only average I thought. Kinda greasy and the chicken seemed gristly. I guess a bit better than Delhi Club down the street, but if you really want good Indian, Clarendon is not the neighborhood. Try Taj of Indian in Georgetown or Indique in Cleveland Park.
Can’t wait to go back!!. Awesome, awesome, awesome!! The waiter actually remembered us from over a year ago!! Great service!! Surprse favorite… Curry Mojito… it was spicy, minty and amazing!!! It’s not for everyone but I REALLY liked it!! The food was also fantastic!! we got the lamb patiala and the lamb korma kashmiri dishes. More than enough to share with several people. The service was great!! They even called a cab for us since we’re from out of town and we had mentioned needing a cab when we first arrived. The outdoor dining area is also very lovely and it is located conveniently near some nice shopping as well.
Not worth the price. I thought the service was very nice but the food is not worth it. I tried the Lamb biryani once and the lamb vindaloo the next time. The Vindaloo was hot and spicy plenty but the savory taste was a tad off.Lamb biryani was good but it cost $18 or so when other places charge about $10 or less for the same stuff. The ambience is very nice. The caucasion lady who serves as maitre’d doesn’t have a personality that goes with the job. No smiles,,,no thank you come again – just a very cold robotic operational approach.
Dinner on a Tuesday June 15. We have been wanting to get some good Indian food and we were not disappointed. There was a steady flow of customers and the food and drinks came out in a timely manner. The drinks were good and the food was really good. The Mrs. had the chicken korma kashmiri which was good and I had the lamb patiala which had a gamey taste but was a great taste. We will be back when we get the urge for some good Indian food.
Very Nosy Staff. Some advice for the staff at Tandoori Nights – Just because we’re both Indian, doesn’t mean you have the right to:ask me if I’m marriedask my why I’m not marriedask me how old I amask me when I’m going to get marriedask me if I have a girlfriendlook at me like a disease because I’m unmarried with no girlfriendcontinue to pester me about how much I make, despite my valiant efforts to steer the conversation in another directionask me what my plans are for the eveningrepeat and subtly mock me when you realize that i’m rather spend the evening reading than go out into the city drinking/clubbing ALL of this while I was just trying to have a quiet dinner alone. It’s sad, really, that Indians continue to be invasive like this to one another. Fortunately there are a host of other Indian restaurants nearby that know how to mind their business and respect personal space and distance.
Nice Indian restaurant. Good job for an India restaurant, it appears modern but is traditional on the inside. The bright and open dining area suggests you will have a great experience eating here. The Lamb Patiala is carefully prepared and well seasoned – worthy of its price.
For Vegetarians. Great Korma!
