Absolutely great food and service!!!! Better than expensive restaurants I eat at. The flavor is great. The portions are considerable big. The whole dinner cost aroun. $30 with last of left overs.
Combo Kabob (Chicken & Beef). Grilled Chicken Breast and Grilled Beef served with four different choices of rice. I chose spinach rice and Yellow Rice. All these sides were wonderful in texture and taste: Pureed Lentil and my favorite the Eggplant, along with Chick peas, Naan and a salad were all delicious. This is the most popular dish and it is served in healthy proportions. Another favorite which I intend on trying at home as a takeout item is the Grilled Salmon. I met Akbar the owner of this small and modest establishment and his staff. Everyone at the counter was very helpful. You order at the counter buffet and take your plate to one of the many tables inside and outside after your meal is called to you as it comes off the grill. The Cardamom tea (lovely smell) was brought to me and was included with the Entre. I finished my meal with one of the huge Baklava that was dripping in honey!! Another benefit is that they have free delivery and you can order straight from the web so you do not even have to find a place to park along Wilson Boulevard. Well worth the money for the quality and quantity of food.
Killer Chickpeas. Plastic silverware, tables and chairs straight from a 1980’s hotel conference room, girl at the register with a bit of potty mouth…but the food is good and the price is right. I particularly liked the spinach rice and the chickpeas. Fun to watch the naan guy making them as ordered. And they walked around a few times to offer everyone free tea.
Delicious! The main courses, sides and afghan bread are all wonderful. Great service: fast & friendly. I have now been here for dinner and late night. Great both times. Try something you’ve never had before. You won’t be disappointed. 😉
Good kabobs, authentic sides.. Had the combo kabob platter: one skewer of lamb and one of chicken. Chose the hummus, chicken curry, and raisin rice for sides. Pretty good, but two kabobs were not enough for a dinner serving. Since I was there for the experience of it, I went back and got a second combo platter. This time ground beef and ground chicken kabobs with spinach, eggplant stew, and curry potatoes for the sides. It was all pretty good. If I go back it will be because of the super friendly older gentleman (owner?) working the register. He was great and genuinely enjoyed helping my friend and I with our Dari.
