Best beignets I’ve had north of NoLa. Their Mac and cheese is also great. This location is nicer than the one in Capitol Hill, and I highly recommend it.

So the food was pretty good, but1) portions were teeny2) not as flavorful as we hoped; zero spice3) I swear we had to pay a ‘surcharge’ to actually stay and eat in the restaurant; and we had to pick up food from a counter and bus our own table. 4) the whole listing that two can dine for $25 could only be achieved if the two folks ordered just coffees, shared a pastry, and then of course took everything to go.

Ordered Beignets (New Orleans doughnout), Creole Cream Cheese and Pepper Jelly with Buttermilk Biscuit, Grilled Pimento Cheese sandwich. The food here are awesome! I love the Creole Cream Cheese with the warm biscuit. I wish I brought extra tummy. It’s the perfect way to start your day with these awesome breakfast.

Good but could be better. Jambalaya was more like dirty rice and without the heat. Grits and Gravy with Pork would have been better if grits were more creamy. Hangover dish was good. BLT and Muffalat were good. Bloody Marys excellent. coffee strong. Tough to find a table if you’re eating in around 10-100pm Sundays. Lines do move pretty well.

Beignet disappointment: bland. The beignets were not what the lady behind the register told me they would be. She said they would be the next best thing to Cafe Du Monde, she was not right. I’m from New Orleans and have had beignets plenty of times. Those were just not it.

Disappointed – bland. The shrimp creole was a total disappointment…shrimps were semi-raw (the cooked ones turned pink, while the raw shrimps were sill light grey color) , and the food was bland. I told the server/cook, didn’t seem to care. We wasted the food. Waste of an evening and waste of $30, we had ordered 2 dishes.
