  Today was a fine day indeed. After work I stopped by Java Shack after it being recommended to me by a fellow twitter user. It’s so close to Market Commons that I had no excuse to not go. I plugged in the headphones and set Miley’s leaked track, Nightmare, on repeat. It’s a little warm these days for my taste, which kind of scares me – it’s not even July yet. So I was definitely looking for an iced drink.Java shack was easy to find. It’s a quaint little shop with a quiet character, which is what I suppose you want in a coffee shop. I wish I had brought a book, because this seems like a great place to sit and read. I ordered a Dale’s special – a quad shot of vanilla, caramel, and topped off with half and half. I also snagged a Milk Chocolate Coffee Nib Bar and a bag of medium roast Shenandoah Spring coffee – both by Commonwealth JoeI DON’T KNOW WHO THIS DALE IS, BUT HIS COFFEE GAME IS STRONG.The first sip of your Dale’s Sepcial is all half and half on ice, but the caramel and vanilla slowly slide their way up the side of the glass into your mouth as you keep drinking. It’s like Dale and Joe are my two old buddies from college, and we are catching up on all the gossip. The more we talk the more robust our conversation gets. Java Shack is great because you can walk in there with no expectations and be blown away. Once you sit down the small shop suddenly feels warm and inviting. If you’re looking for a cozy vibe, a great brew, or a relaxing time reading a book in the summer breeze you should definitely check out Java Shack.
