So so. The dishes here are mediocre. I tend to only stick w/ fried rice or sushi ( two things that they haven’t messed up so far). Please be aware that the staff tends to get upset if you want to return your dish if you don’t like it. They are Unwilling to replace the item w/ something else.
Can anyone comment on the TEA?. It can’t be called the Tea House for no reason. Do they even have tea and is it a good selection? I’ve been hunting for a real Chinese tea house for some time and want to know if this really is a tea house as well as a restaurant.
Straight-up American-style Chinese food, well executed. Shrimp in Garlic Sauce was yummy as a lunch special, as was the hot & sour soup.
We enjoyed our first of what we believe will many wonderful dinners at the Tea House; excellent Sushi- well cooked tempura, excellent service, and overall a very authentic Asian meal. We highly recommend trying the Tea House.
I find their food overpriced and not so great. Dumplings look like they’re from Trader Joes. Lo Mein is greasy. Not worth the money.
Highs and lows. We’ve had excellent dishes from here, but a few pretty mediocre ones as well. The best: Their wonton soup is excellent, and nicely flavored of ginger. It seems they hand-make their fried/steamed dumplings, which is unusual, and they have crisp, less doughy wrapper than many places, which is really nice. We have found that their dark sauces tend to be much better than the light sauces. The best thing we’ve had is the shrimp and scallops in garlic sauce, which is excellent. Also, the mongolian beef was very good.Avoid: light sauces. The ones we’ve had have been pretty tasteless.
Best Chinese in Crozet. Mu Shu Pork is one of our favs. We have been eating here since they opened and we have never been disappointed. Food is always fresh and service is great. Our kids love the fried dumplings.
