Favorite. No question. This is our favorite restaurant in the Newport News area. The food is always predictable and delicious. The table linen is impecable, the service and recognition is a joy.Jennings Bryan.

Great Food. This is great Italian food! Everything is so flavorful and fresh here. The portions are good for the price and service is very attentive and quick. Great spot for a romantic night out, the atmosphere is both comfortable and welcoming. This spot will not disappoint!

The most bland Italian food we’ve ever had. We chose Al Fresco due to great reviews. Wanted to avoid a chain and go for more authentic. We ordered Vitello Verena, Vitello Bianca, and Fettucine Al Fresco which sounded excellent from the menu. But what we got was very disappointing. Veal was slimy and bland on a bed of over-boiled spaghetti. Marsala sauce was more like watery gravy. Vegetables and white wine garlic sauce were bland. Bread was store-bought. Pasta noodles were burnt. Vinaigrette dressing was watered down and near flavorless. Even the kalamata olives had little flavor. We had two couples and can honestly say we’ve never had bad Italian before. But this was little better than cafeteria quality. Wouldn’t go back even with a free gift certificate.

Nice Quiet Lunch Out. Though a little pricey, to those of you who are budget minded, it was a nice quiet place to eat lunch with my husband. I would NOT recommend this eatery to families with young children since it seems more of a date or business setting….and stays pretty quiet as a whole in that regard. The staff were attentive, though it seemed a little busy to only have one main waitress, one server, and one person to re-fill waters….the waitress held her own though, and seemed to have a good amount of energy to run around to all the tables :)We were pleased with our dishes, and the quantity was pleasantly surprising as well…but for those of us who are on a budget…it won’t be a place I’ll be frequenting…..even with my coupon…ouch! LOL!Desserts were fabulous…housemade cannoli and tiramasu…..yummy!!!
