Entry-level Indian food. If you’ve never had Indian food before, the buffet at Nawab is a good place to start. They offer a decent variety of popular dishes on the buffet, so you can sample only what you think you will like. You can’t go wrong with palak paneer (spinach and Indian cottage cheese) or any of their chicken dishes. The only downside to the buffet, in my opinion, is that the food is often less spicy than I’d like it to be, but mild spice might be a plus for some. If you’ve never had Indian before, definitely give Nawab’s buffet a try. If you’re already a fan of spicy Indian food, I’d say go elsewhere. Dinner off the menu is kind of expensive and the buffet food is often a little bland. I still like to go to the buffet occasionally because I can fill up on rice pudding, but Nawab isn’t my #1 pick for Indian.
Good Indian food. I enjoy going to this restaurant more in the evenings or when ordering off the menu. The buffet is OK but as a vegetarian I often have to be careful on what is offered. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful and we truly enjoyed going their for special events (I,e, valentines, new years, etc.)
There are no words in the English language to describe how good this is. Chicken Tikka Masala was just simply amazing. You must go here. And you must have the Gulab Jamun for dessert.
Wonderful food. Great breads and sauces.
Excellent Indian Cuisine. The best Indian cuisine in Hampton Roads! Fresh, flavorful, and the price is good too (can’t beat the lunch buffet!). The service is good as well. Eaten here several times and have nothing but good things to say about the place.
Excellent atmosphere with great Indian food. The quail was delicious.
Haven’t been disappointed yet!. Going here is always a great experience. The service is wonderful and the food is great, every time. The samosas, naan, and chutney are the best I’ve ever had. The only critique I have is that the curry (and I like to order Indian hot..) though very spicy, doesn’t have as much ‘oomph!’ in the other flavors (besides blazing heat) as I’d like….but even that is not enough to make me not want to go back every chance we get!
