Second time here and it was even better! Got the vindaloo lamb shank, eggplant, and rice. The vindaloo was perfect temp for my wife but I’m going hotter next time. Also, had the samosas–awesome! Their service is impeccable. oh, and the garlic naan–piping hot and delicious.
Called ahead and had a reservation, but when we got there, we were asked to wait for 10 minutes.. Then they proceeded to seat other customers who came in later!!! Won’t ever go back here.
Really enjoyed this place. Food was exciting and creative that made it a step above other Indian restaurants.
Only place in Fairfax we keep going back to.. The food here is great and we’ve gone back regularly since an Indian friend recommended it as the best Indian food in the Fairfax/Vienna area. Decor is better than the average Indian place, but that doesn’t mean the prices are higher. And I have to add that we’ve never had anything but wonderful service there. A few times the manager has come by to make sure everything was fine, and it wasn’t because there was ever a problem. They seem to be interested in giving excellent service. Many places don’t seem to care at all. Free parking right there. We’ve brought friends from out of town with sophisticated palates, and everyone has been happy.
Great Food…exceptionally poor service. The food at Bollywood Bistro was great and I really want to recommend this resturant; however, the service was terrible. In my opinion, food and service go hand in hand. The waitor was extremely slow and appeared uninterested in serving us. Our appetizer took forever which defeated the purpose of ordering it. The owner was nice and resolved the issue, when we brought it to his attention. Lastly, they exhibited some questionable business practices. Just as a suggestion, read the fine print to any deals you may have. On a positive note, if you do visit this establishment, try the garlic shrimp appetizer.
Unfriendly server, but awesome food!!. We came in with empty tummies, smiles and curiosity. Realizing we were about a half hour before the kitchen closed on a Saturday night we tried to place our orders quickly, but had some questions about the menu. The server had a bad attitude and seemed like he was ready to get out there (maybe he didn’t need the 35% tip we ended up leaving him). The manager and/or owner salvaged the server’s bad behavior by suggesting the awesome mango spinach salad and being very kind to us. Wish we could’ve tipped him instead. Definitely recommend this restaurant- just hope you don’t get that guy.
Great place! Have had and like Indian food but never branched out from the items I knew. Sat at the bar and the owner (Sharma) brought us new offerings which were all fabulous. Will be back..and try the mango martini!
