This is the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. So disappointing. It was so bland with no flavor and the eggrolls and won tons weren’t even cooked thoroughly. The menu has no item description so we asked what was in the items before we ordered them but what we got was different than what they had described. It would be worth it to drive the extra distance to go somewhere else.
TOO BAD. Been my favorite Fairfax place for decades, but recently under new management and very poor quality, less quality supplier, and very poorly prepared. Greasy and less substance and more filler.Very disappointing. Now it IS time to move!
Excellent food!!. The restaurant is certainly understated and fairly bland but who goes to a restaurant for the decor, right? The wait staff isn’t the most friendly or personable – efficient is probably the best description. We decided to order family-style which is the best way to each Chinese food – we had 8 people and ordered 6 dishes plus soup – more than sufficient for us!!The soup which served 6 of us with leftovers was the Crabmeat with Asparagus – a light soup that was tasty – tofu, egg whites and asparagus along with some sparse crabmeat. The dishes were: Beef with Wild PeppersCrystal ShrimpMa-Po TofuDry Fried String BeansChicken with ChiliShan Braised RabbitAll the dishes were very flavorful and the hot dishes were extremely spicy as noted on the menu. This was a delight for everyone as many restaurants tone-down their spices for Western tastes. The peppers in the beef were numbing but also very flavorful – it seems they had soaked in vinegar which was interesting. The shrimp was very light and delicate – completely on a different spectrum from the other dishes which were Szechaun spicy!! The string beans and the Ma-Po Tofu were perhaps the best dishes – bursting with flavor and heat but not to the point that the food wasn’t edible. The chicken with chili was delicious although the pile of dry-fried red chilis leftover after eating the chicken was amusingly large. The rabbit had an excellent sauce – the only caveat here is that the rabbit had many small bones. All told, we’d visit again – the food is excellent and the service, while not stellar, was competent.
Small portions compared to other Chinese places. Also I ordered on my way home and decided to pick it up rather than have it delivered because I thought it would be quicker, they took 20mins to prepare a single entree and app!
The best Chinese restaurant in this area. The menu’s got a long list of dishes to keep you from getting bored. The Sichuan dishes are very tasty, they are spicy and well-seasoned. The Mapo Tofu was awesome with just the exact amount of peppers to make it authentic and unforgettable.
Excellent Chinese Food. The dining room is hardly fancy, but the food is of high quality. Separated into two menus, one with more traditional Chinese fare, one with more Chinese/American fare, you cannot go wrong with either. Dumplings are standouts, as are crispy beef and the Sichaun entrees.
