Level up from the regular fast food chains, can compete with five guys, elavation burger and so. In my experience it was full of kids with an average burger. Lots of options for burgers to choose from. Custard selection is good but did not try.
Different approach to burgers. Grade: BFreddy’s steakburger has a crisp edge that suggests that it was cooked in butter. In the same fashion, the bun is grilled with butter. It’s pretty good, but the patty size struck me as being a bit small and I don’t think most people feel they need the extra calories and cholesterol from the butter. The shoestring fries are not my favorite. They are pretty tiny and, as a result, a bit hard to eat. Additionally, with more surface area they take a lot more salt, which I definitely don’t need. I liked Freddy’s Chicago-style hot dogs, which actually use Vienna beef dogs. And my wife loves the soft serve frozen custard, which she’s been looking for since we’ve been in the area. It actually is pretty good.The only problem is the wait time. It took us 15 minutes from the time we ordered our food to get it. Even when starting from scratch, that is a bit long. Nonetheless, the food is good enough that we will be back.

Ordered the double California style burger that comes with an entire slice of onions. The food is reminiscent of west coast specialty chains and is just around the corner here. The frozen custard comes with lots of toppings and fun pre-set combinations. The theme was kids choosing their own, shyly whispering to their parents each individual topping one at a time. I will definitely be coming back soon
Enjoyed Freddy’s. It was nice to see a new and clean restaurant on Fairfax Blvd in the city. They really did a good job on the building. Addition of the drive-thru is also nice as there aren’t very many close by.On to the food. A bit of a Steak n’ Shake flair (for those from the midwest) on the burgers, so get the double. Nicely seasoned and really tasty. I don’t usually do mustard, pickle, onion (their recommendation) but have to say it really works well and tastes great. Fries are just great (I admit I really like crispy shoestring fries – if you like this type, you have to try these). Freddy’s fry sauce is interesting as well – not usually my choice, but I did enjoy it.There are lots of burger places out there, but our group really enjoyed this one. Value was also good. All of us got combo meals and there was plenty of food for a pretty good price. They cook your food when you order it – so it takes a few more minutes, but it’s worth is.If you go, try the frozen custard! Two flavors (Choc and Vanilla) with more toppings than you probably need or want as options. Friend had the Turtle Sundae and raved about it. Enjoy.
Another burger choice for the area. A brand new restaurant next to the Outback, Freddys offers up steakburgers, dogs, and frozen custards. We stopped in for lunch. It was busy and for much of the time we were there we saw a short line. I tried the Freddys Original Double with cheese. Tasty. As I remember steakburger patties can tend to be thin, not the thick juicy patties of ground beef burgers. These were thin, two patties almost not enough. The fries I got with the burger were shoestring cut and were great. I love shoestring fries.Also it being a frozen custard place I finished with a Hawaiian Delight, vanilla custard mixed with pieces of pineapple, strawberries, coconut and nuts. It was good and cold but I did think the custard itself lacked flavor and these fruit ingredients did not jump out as fresh and refreshing.The restaurant is large and the inside is ready for business. You order at the counter and pick up at another counter when your number is called. Everyone was nice and dishes were cleared as you finished eating, a nice touch over the more typical bus your own table places.All in all we thought it good but not outstanding. I sincerely wish them well.
