Bibimbap is one of my favorite Korean dishes. Its so simple, yet so delicious. The Lotte in Fairfax, VA, is unassuming from the outside – but it has two small restaurants inside. Its a tradition of mine to grab the Bulgolgi Bibimbap every time I stop there for groceries. I think it helps stop me from going completely crazy when I shop – otherwise I might walk out with 5 different types of dumplings and a handful of frozen pastries (Im looking at you mango mochi). I get mine served in the hot stone bowl, which is the only way you should get it, and leave a bit of the rice at the bottom as I mix in the gochujang – this way the rice on bottom caramelizes and gets deliciously crunchy!Lotte Plaza is one of my favorite places to shop for groceries. They have a great selection of produce, and often they have products you wont find at conventional grocers or even Whole Foods Market. It’s my go-to place for Korean wine, although their beer selection is a little weak.
