WOWZA! We liked EVERYTHiNG about this place. Literally everything. The hostess was sweet, the wait staff was efficient & quick, the food was absolutely delicious, the dining room was super cute & clean & the bathrooms were spotless! Definitely our favorite Mexican restaurant now!
Love this place !!!!. My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in the DC area ! The food is authentically Tex-Mex, reasonably priced, and they have a military discount every Saturday. Happy hour is good too, as you can get a 22 oz of Pacifico draft for $4.99. I highly recommend the Tipico Mexicano, which has emerged as my fav dish. Also the chorizo and egg meal is good too. We have never had a bad experience here, and we go just about every week. They actually have like four locations in the DC area, and if the other three are as good as Springfield’s, you should really consider going.
Springfield El Paso.. Tacos serves without lettuce and tomatoes, beans and rice served cold. How can you screw up tacos. Service poor.
I just have to say how disappointed I was after eating dinner here last night. My first clue should’ve been the excessive amount of gringos in there and none of the large Latino community from this area. It’s really no wonder because this was pretty much the most poorly seasoned and executed Mexican fare I can recall experiencing. It wasn’t just poorly made, it was amazingly bland all the way from the salsa through the Fajita style taco salad, threading through Jose’s awful burrito and back again in the enchiladas, rice and beans. Taco Bell has the upper hand on this place, Chipotle has better burritos for less and there is nothing authentic about what they make. The fact that it gets such high ratings is only a reflection on the fact that suburban folks apparently enjoy Mexican food as long as it’s just like the Old El Paso stuff from the grocery store… And even THAT tastes better than this! Be real folks and get real food, to their credit the tortilla chips were warm and the iced tea wasn’t bitter or watered down.
Consistently Good. El Paso in Springfield is our go-to place. The food and service are consistently good. On the downside, they have two dining room and no bar, but they serve a fabulous skinny margarita.
Pretty good!. If you really understand that there is no ‘REAL’ Mexican food to be found in Northern Virginia, then you’ll appreciate the fact that El Paso is almost the best to be found for it moderate prices, family ambience, food value and respective adherence to the semblance of ‘American’ southwestern food. Although everyone’s taste is different, this stands above Tippy’s and Anita’s, yet slightly below Austin. The advantage and my preference at El Paso is that it lacks the ‘chain’ mentality, it’s family run and the product and environment are authentic. We keep going back to Jose’s place!
POOR service Never Again. We went for my Bday and all in ordered the daily special. 1 hour later, still no food and everyone that came in after us was served. We told them to cancel our order and then all of a sudden the food came out 3 min later.. No apologies, no discount, no nothing. The food that finally came out was cold and tasteless.. PS. I am latino so I know my latin food.
