Great food! I’m not a fan of the drinks which is a shame but the food is excellent. Chicken dishes and steak tacos al carbon are awesome and the plantains.

The chips are fresh and light, the salsa smoky and excellent. For $11 you can get a huge margarita that is always excellent strong and perfect.. We usually get a shrimp appetizer that is cooked in a wine and butter sauce served with several bread rolls that is just succulent And wonderful. We then usually get fish tacos for main course. Be sure to ask for the house made habanero-based hot sauce that will just round out the fish tacos perfectly. Make sure to save room for the tres leches cake for dessert I know of no better place to get it!
Standard Mexican/Tex-Mex. Grade: B-There’s nothing surprising about El Tio – Mexican wall decorations, Mexican music, and fairly mainstream Mexican/Tex-Mex food. My beef enchilada was decent, as was the chile relleno. My wife’s chicken burrito was good enough. The refried beans were decent, too. Everything was good in a run-of-the-mill way, but nothing exciting.
