  Traditional Vietnamese without the traditional atmosphere.. Saigon Cafe, in my mind, will steal most of the valuable clientele from Eden Shopping Center. It’s right across the street from Eden, and thankfully so. While you still might have to deal with the insanity that is the 7 Corners intersection, you will not have to deal with Eden’s parking lot.My mother, who is Vietnamese, has also sworn off of any restaurant in Eden after first going to Saigon Cafe. The atmosphere is comfortable and slightly upscale, and is a paradise compared to any restaurant in Eden. Other than the food, one thing besides parking Saigon Cafe has over Eden restaurants by a long shot is cleanliness.The food is quite traditional Vietnamese cuisine, with little fusion of Chinese or Thai. It might be hard to find the real gems on the menu, which is quite extensive, if you aren’t familiar with the dishes or don’t go with someone who is. But, I’ve liked everything I’ve had there so far after probably 20 visits. They still suffer from the standard rushed service of a Vietnamese restaurant if you order apps with your entree, but the tables are big.Because of Saigon Cafe and one other Vietnamese restaurant in the area, I will likely never have to venture into Eden Shopping Center again unless I’m fiending for a bubble drink or some Vietnamese junkfood from one of the bakeries.
