Nice local chain with surprisingly good food.We arrived late but were seating immediately in the small dining room that held several other patrons. Those patrons were clearly local and regulars to the restaurant which was a good sign since the restaurant is off-the-beaten-path for most travelers. The menu is quite extensive and it took a few minutes to review. I opted for the Chile Colorado O Verde with the green sauce. 2 of the 3 orders arrived almost immediately thereafter while the third order took a few additional minutes to arrive. True to form for so many Mexican restaurants, the plates arrived too hot to touch but that’s not necessarily a disqualifying factor for good food. The Chile Colorado was excellent – the verde sauce was disappointingly mild but that’s excusable given the surroundings. The flavor was good and the chunks of pork were fork-tender. The accompanying rice and beans were run-of-the-mill but not unexpected. Unlike many other restaurants, the meal included 3 flour tortillas which was a nice touch. This allowed me to create Chile Colorado tacos and also absorb some of the verde sauce. The prices are decent – my meal was under $14 with tax and tip (water to drink). I look forward to visiting again to sample more of the menu.
