  Straightforward Good BBQ. This is good straightforward bbq with fine service. We’ve eaten bbq all over the country, and most areas have regional distinctions. This bbq crossed many lines. At times we thought we were in North Carolina, Alabama, and western Virginia. The smoked pork is very good even without any sauce. The coleslaw on top takes you south by one state. The bbq sauces move you farther south and west towards Alabama. We liked the atmosphere, and were even more impressed later when we read about the restaurant and discovered that the large photo on the wall of the hunt club was from the founder’s family archives. We’ll be sure to stop here again on our next road trip north.

  So-so BBQ. I had the ribs and the beef platter. It was just OK not great but not bad. For the price I expected better. Service was good but there are better places in FBurg for BBQ. Also, the sauces were extremely runny like water but the flavor was decent.

In my opinion, this is the best BBQ in N. Virginia. The famous mac n cheese, ribs, muddy spuds, potato salad, all four sauces, collards, pies etc!!! FINALLY!!! We went there tonight and it was by far the busiest we have seen since they opened AND FOR GOOD REASON! We don’t have to try to fight traffic to get to Woodbridge to enjoy all the tremendous flavors we have grown to love to much over the past 15 years!The only downer was the guy who took the orders. He kept messing up the orders and copped an attitude with me. The manager handled the situation very well. Kudos for that! The manager did say the guy was new, so I am hoping he will give him some training in customer service.I would not let that stop me from coming in again.   Found it! BBQ is one of those things that is extremely hit or miss. This is a hit! Meat is fresh and flavorful. Sides are a great size and the beans are actually hot, not served ice cold! Staff is friendly and on the ball. They earned my business!

  I’ll take it…. One of the better places in Fredericksburg to grab some decent BBQ. Yes the decor is a little too upscale to call it a BBQ Joint, but there’s still a slight homelike atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in the right place. The staff has always been friendly and they cater to most palates as they don’t rub or sauce their pork. The saucing is left up to you. If you’re cruising down Rt. 3 just look past the big ugly green coffee shop next door and grab some good eats.

  Pleasant surprise. My wife and I ended up here since most place on that side of 95 close early. We had low expectations but were pleasantly surprised. We walked in 5 min before close but the lady at the counter was polite and helpful. She gave us recommendations and we shared a 3-meat meal between us. It was plenty of food. The pork with the white sauce was our favorite combination. The rest was great though too. I’d recommend getting some of their fudge as its more like a brownie – very tasty.
