We have been coming to the resturant since their opening and have never had a bad meal! The atmosphere is pleasant and peaceful and the employees are alway very nice. Easily out best indian resturant in the area.
Outstanding !! My wife and I have been regular visitors since Guru opened 11 years ago. The food is very flavorful and quality of food and service are top notch .Must visit if you are in Fredericksburg.
Awesome Indian Food. I went here once and after that I continue eating in this fabulous place. If you want authentic Indian food this is the right place. The chef really know the secret Indian recipe. I have tried several Indian restaurants but nothing like this one.
Absolute Indian Guru. I wasnt expecting to enjoy this restaurant as much as I did. I took three reluctant kids and my mother to Guru for dinner, midweek, and before we even entered the door, I could smell the distinct aroma of good indian spices. The decor was clean lined, in great taste and very peaceful with a gorgeous water feature. We ordered 5 dishes: Chicken Tikki, Butter Chicken, Aloo Gobi, Mixed Grill and american chicken tenders (in case the kids didnt like it) along with puri, plain and garlic naan, and lancha with raita. The food was freshly and expertly prepared. The grilled items were juicy and tender with plenty of seasoning without too much spice (as we requested for the kids) the aloo gobi was delicious and fresh, not soggy. The butter chicken was some of the best I have ever had and the breads were all fresh, hot and delicious. The raita was definitely the best I have ever had. I HIGHLY recommend this for native indian food and american eaters. this is on my must have list when I am in town.
I was very unimpressed by the buffet. The food was bland and mushy. I’m usually a wuss about spice but I still want it to have flavor!
I thought the dinner was a little pricey but I went again to try the $10 lunch buffet. It did not have samosas or byriani but it did have 3 chicken dishes and 3 vegetarian dishes. Not as spicy s I like but they brought me some excellent hot sauce.
Below Average- service and cuisine. We were surprised by the mainly positive reviews of this location. I am usually the last person to criticize the waitstaff, but from the beginning of the evening they were inattentive and uninterested from the minute we walked and that condition did not improve as the evening went on. In general the portions were small, flavorless, and unoriginal. It is hard to mess up Naan, but Guru managed to do it. It was as small and flat as a tortilla. The chicken Tika Marsala was particularly bland. Overall a spectacularly below average restaurant.
