Last year good – This year not so or just an off night?. I have been to South Vietnam House twice, July 2013 and again in July 2014. I cannot rate as like or dislike at this time due to the last experience we had.In July 2013 High would rate this establishment as high and deserving of the 94 it has at the time I wrote this review. The staff was friendly and efficient. I never had an empty glass of water or adult beverage. I ordered the large beef pho and it was excellent. Tasty with lots of beef. My Brother order one of the clay pot meals and he said it was the best he ever had. In 2013 we thought this place to be the best Vietnam style cuisine ever.Well then came July 2014. I raved about this place to my friends and invited them to dinner. I had the humble pie.Of the four meals, I again had the beef pho. Along with the beef was some white mushy substance that was probably fat off the meat. Very unappetizing. My friend order the clay pot pork meal at my suggestion since that is what my brother had last year and loved it. Well, the menu said fried rice with pork. He got steamed rice with grizzle and lot of cabbage. He did not finish the meal. For the price he thought the meat should have been handled better in the kitchen.Another friend had the roast chicken. She said the meal was very flavorable but the chicken was dry. Fortunately she had plenty of tasty sauce on the plate.My other friend had the orange duck. He said it was great. One of the best he ever had, but where’s the meat? A small piece of duck breast was all that could be found.All of the meals where adequate in size, not over portioned if that is what you are looking for.The staff was friendly but we never got water refills until we were ready to leave. Our table was not asked if we wanted another adult beverage.Any one could have an off night. I will be back next year and try again. hope I don’t get the humble pie.

Pho broth is incredible, great service, nice chopsticks not some junky throw away splinter chopsticks. Eat here you’ll love it
Cold Day Hot Soup!. I had lunch here today. I had the Noodle Soup (Pho) # 14. I ordered the extra large and got the EXTRA LARGE… 🙂 Very good flavor! Very good service!
Gift from Vietnam. Are you looking for healthy food that tastes great?Unlike the food at many of the big chain restaurants, the food at South Vietnam house is made to order (not frozen). The vegetables are fresh. The tasty broth for the Vietnamese pho (soup) is made by the owner, Bach. It does not come premade–from a can or a box.My favorite soup is Pho Ga (Vietnames chicken noodle soup).There are a lot of different meals to choose from, and they are all good.If you want to improve your overall health, this restaurant is a wonderful place to start!Give it a try. I think that once you taste the food at South Vietnam House, you will want to return again and again.
This restaurant is fantastic on all levels! I strongly recommend the pho and the house rolls. Go to the restaurant once and you will go back over and over again.
