Great local sushi. Excellent sushi, the best I’ve had in Tidewater. Seriously guys, you need to check this one out. Authentic, fresh, friendly. Try the tiger roll, it’s phenomenal. And with an available yelp deal. Please patronize this local small business, I just found my new sushi spot, and don’t want to loose it. I don’t have any disclosures, I have nothing to gain from good reviews, I’m just a regular dude who likes some quality sushi every now and then. Bottom line – good stuff. Chesapeake needs more places like this.
Thank you to Chef/Owner Ang for having Yelpers last night to sample your fantastic dishes!I enjoyed the decor inside. This would be a great spot for a date night. Very clean, nice bar, open concept so you can see the Chef preparing your meal from almost any spot in the restaurant.Last night my palate was treated to Pepper Tuna Tataki, White Tuna w/hot oil, Salmon Carpaccio, Tiger Roll and the Golden Dream roll. Each dish was meticulously prepared by the Chef and delicious. Really, it was an honor to be there and be able to sample all these great items. A lot of these items I had never tried but I had made up my mind that no matter what Chef served up, I would give it a chance and graduate to the next level! My favorite was the salmon carpaccio – so tender, so fresh and yummy – it melted in my mouth. Just a very simple and dainty dish – I loved it. The Pepper Tuna Tataki was fantastic! It had a nice kick to it. I posted quite a few pictures from last night as well as under Rawking and Rolling page http://www.yelp.com/biz/yelps-rawking-and-rolling-with-ang-chesapeake. We enjoyed our samples so much that my friend and I purchased the Yelp $15 for $30 deal and ordered the Spicy Girl, Spicy City and another Tiger Roll. They were all just awesome. The sauces are really yummy – they tasted homemade. Spicy and sweet – honestly just perfect. I’ve eaten in my share of sushi restaurants around Hampton Roads and this is in my top 3! We will definitely make the trek out to Chesapeake and visit here again.Thank you again for your hospitality and it was wonderful to try new foods! We will be back.
Disappointed with Service. Ang’s had customer appreciation last night with AYCE menu. This small bistro was not prepared to handle all the loyal customers that came in and wanted AYCE. They only had 2 people waiting tables and only 1 sushi chef.Definitely a big mistake on managements part to not be better prepared.
Excellent Meal. I had the Salmon Teriyaki…..I asked that I not be served squash or zucchini…..well to my total surprise I was served two delicious pieces of salmon that was extremely tasteful, hot and very flaky…..it came with onions, broccoli, cabbage and carrots….the meal was but $17.00 dollars……I gladly would have paid far more…..it was one of the most delicious meals that I have had in a long time. Thank you very much…..you can count on me coming back each week.29 Apr, 2013Excellence. Wow…..the menu choices were wonderful…..the sushi was excellent…..the shrimp was steamed or fried but excellent either way…..the shrimp came with a mango sauce that was a wonderful surprise…..it was immediately sweet and then progressed to being tangy….the spring rolls were excellent…..it is an experience that everyone needs to enjoy…..in fact we will being going there this evening…..it has become my favorite place….
Great Sushi. I love sushi and have been to just about all of the sushi places in my neck of the woods. I recently saw Ang’s when I was in the area and decided to try it. I ordered a Tiger roll and totally enjoyed it. Everything was just sooooo fresh. The staff were very friendly and spoke with me like they knew me. 2 thumbs up…. Glad I found this place.
This restaurant was excellent. Not only is the selection large and varied but the quality and design of the rolls is close to artwork. It is not to be missed. Ive also had the teryaki dishes and they are the best around.
Beautiful rester aunt terrible food. I just found the food to be average at best. My salad was sitting in an inch of water and one of my cucumbers had gone bad. The miso soup was all right. My sushi was boring and didn’t taste especially fresh. Most everything we ordered tasted like it was purchased from a store and cooked in the rester aunt. My husband got the chicken katsu which I will say was great. Our waitress was totally oblivious to the fact that I was obviously upset with the food. Oh well, won’t be going back again.
