I’m shocked to see a 4.4 rating for this place. It was averagish at best. This place is the typical American non authentic Chinese ran wanna be Japanese restaurant which are a dime a dozen in this country. There’s a better version nearby that’s actually authentic albeit not great either but better than this. I guess the people that don’t know what real Japanese is suppose to taste like just do not have the standards as someone who does so they rate it high. I tried four different rolls and all were average I guess. The fried tofu was ok nothing special. The salad has a nice lemon dressing taste, the gyoza was the standard frozen from the bag variety not handmade. Sadly probably the best thing here was the apple sake wine. Nice looking place and service was decent but this isn’t a place you come back to if you want the good stuff.

Get the omakase. Chef is wonderful and personable. Sit at the bar, tell him the amount and let him go to work. Miso roasted eggplant was sweet, soft and tasty. The salmon carpaccio with capers, red onion and salt was so excellent. He than made some crazy Ang which was many fresh fishy. He timed the courses perfectly and the service was spot on. Authorized and encouraged. I won’t go anywhere else for sushi in town.
