Best Chinese in Chesapeake!. After 4 years of horrible experiences trying out every Chinese place in Chesapeake, my husband picked up carryout from this little gem on his way home from work in Greenbrier one night. Much to our great surprise and delight, this place is amazing. Since that night, we have ordered from them several more times and tried out many other dishes and each time, we have been very happy with the results. This restaurant far surpasses any other Chinese restaurant in the Western Branch area where we live. My only disappointment is that they are carry out only and that they are located in the Great Bridge/Hickory area. 5 stars, hands down!
Must have been a bad night!. Ordered the Crab Rangoon, Fried Shrimp and General Tso’s combo platter. The Crab Rangoon was cooked to perfection but the oil was old so it absorbed and tasted like a lot of things Crab Rangoon shouldn’t. The General Tso’s chicken was overcooked, and the sauce was lacking (darker in color than most other Chinese food places). The fried rice that accompanies the combo platter is not true fried rice, but the yellow rice with bits of pork thrown in. Finally the Egg Roll, though fried perfectly was only about 1/2 full and if it was supposed to be (I’m not sure if they are?) a pork fried egg roll, there wasn’t any pork in sight. If you’re looking to change things up, try Zheng Garden about three miles up the road.19 Jul, 2013Meh! Won’t go back. In short the fried food was cooked too long for my liking (darker brown), the crab rangoon filing was minimal and not very good, and the pork fried rice was the yellow stuff, not true pork fried white rice.
