The worst went there Saturday at 3:00 for a early family Christmas gathering. My wife and I both ordered shrimp tacos. I also ordered a bowl of french onion soup. The meal came and I took one bite and tasted old foul shrimp. I tried a 2nd bite and could not swallow it. I told my wife I was not eating it, the soup did not come either. Fifteen minutes later the waitress finally came back as asked if we had ordered soup. I told her the soup was mine and that she could forget the soup and take the meal back. I decided I would grab a burger on the way home. My daughter found a hair in her salad and my father had shrimp and grits which came with 3 large pieces of bread in the bowl of shrimp and grits, I guess as a filler. To say the least the meals were terrible with service that matched. We had a total of 12 people there and I’m sure none even them will ever eat at Kelly’s .
Awesome service, Great burgers!. Came in with my husband and two kids for lunch. everything was wonderful. I had the fried egg burger and he had the ponderosa burger. both were awesome. our server was outstanding. totally turned our day around! we will be returning!

Pretty Good Burger. Not sure why the rating is so low… I normally stop here after work for a drink to let the traffic die down. I took the family here the other night and we all enjoyed everything. The service was good. Our waitress had several tables, but still kept us up to par.
Perfect Party. We recently had the rehearsal dinner at Kelly’s Tavern at the locks in Chesapeake and want everyone to know just how wonderful our experience was. Chris and I made all of the arrangements by emailing both and forth to each other and he was always quick to reply and answer all of my questions. From the point of our arrival until we departed on the night of our event, our wait staff was very attentive to our every need. The appetizers were out quickly, the drink orders were taken and drinks delivered promptly, then the same for dinner. They even cut and served the cake we brought with us. I do think the dinners were slightly on the high priced side and would have liked it if they put out more chips with the crab dip when they ran out, but otherwise none of our guests nor I have a negative thing to say.
Customer Service – Not. Management not real friendly. Guess they do not need good customers. Tried to book an event/40 women. We had booked in the past. This time, was told $400 deposit needed. Ridiculous. Manager rude on the phone as well as in person. I believe you can have policies in place and still be professional, polite, respectful. Not so at Kelly’s Tavern on Battlefield. What a shame.
