[Updated Review 4/22/2018] Stopped in and had an excellent lunch here last Friday afternoon while I was doing some plant shopping for the garden. I ordered a sandwich called the ‘Bridge Club’ which is a whole hot sub with ham, turkey, bacon, two types of cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. Along with that I added a bag of salt and vinegar chips and some iced tea. Price was about $10 for the whole meal. You can’t beat that.[Original Review 4/10/2014] ]Yum. This is my first trip to Mr. Jim’s since at least the late 80’s… I have to say it’s always nice to stop in at a locally owned place and the food is just as good as you remembered it being the first time you walked in almost 25 years prior. There was a bit of a crowd inside the front door however they had all ordered and were just waiting for food. My co-worker and I both ordered club subs and grabbed some iced tea from the back of the dining room. Once the sandwiches were ready we took them outside and sat at one of about 5 or 6 tables available in the shade and man was it a great day to have lunch outside. They also have rocking chairs up along the front side of the building. Our sandwiches were delicious and plentiful, filled with quality ingredients. The entire meal with a drink came in at under $10 and was well worth it. It’s a short drive from Greenbrier but I can imagine I’ll be taking it regularly now that I’m working out here again.
When we first moved into Chesapeake in 2007, we were very impressed by this place. Now, the prices are a little too high for the quality of cheesesteak sandwich. The sandwiches used to be bigger and then they changed to a smaller version. We do like it, but haven’t been there in a long while due to the aforementioned reasons.
Down hill. God this place has gone down hill…
Excellent subs. The chicken parm is very good as are the lemon cookies.
I loved it! I dealt with a girl manager, and she was wonderful!! This young lady was such a help and pretty too! Blonde hair blue eyes beauty! I will be coming back to see her and enjoy the subs! Philly steak is the best!
Diner Review. Just had lunch in the remodeled and redecorated Mister Jim’s and LOVED the chicken salad sub. I was told that the owner makes it personally. BTW, those huge chocolate chip cookies are the best!
Outfreaking-standing tasting sammiches and pizza! The ingredients always taste fresh and the portions are large. Service is better than average.
