The food was amazing! I got the crab dip appetizer and salmon for dinner. They may have been a bit busy so service was just a tad bit slower, but still good overall. Looking forward to returning.
Actually a review of the Lynnhaven location. Here for a large birthday party of 14. The steak was melt in the mouth amazing (6 oz tenderloin was plenty), came rare although ordered medium rare. The jalapeo bacon jam was a lovely addition. Servers pretty attentive for a large table, perhaps not excellent in water refills. Points lost for their side dishes they were scanty. Two sides came with the meal, and upon the servers description of the amount, I ordered an extra a la carte side. The green beans, broccolini, and asparagus were ok(although the asparagus wasnt properly trimmed; stem was woody), but cmon, 4 Spears of standard girth asparagus is NOT worth an extra $3 charge. The amounts of side dishes seemed to vary in my party. The steak was insufficient for me to wish to return.
The steaks were absolutely perfect . Been there twice. Beats Ruth’s Chris any day. The service was great every time. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of product. Tonight both of our vegetables were cold. So was the drawn butter. The one half lobster tail was barely as big as a large shrimp. On our previous trip the bread for the crab dip was was burnt. I would go there again simply because it is the best steak I have ever had. But I certainly hope they would imrove on the overall product presented.
We love The Butcher’s Son, and have dined here several times. It is easily the best steak restaurant in Coastal Virginia. Every Wednesday is prime rib day, which for $16 is an excellent deal! Their Sunday brunch is absolutely amazing.
