I finally had the pleasure of trying out Windy City Pizza recently and have to say that I had a very satisfying dinner.I joined some friends and upon arriving we were immediately seated and had our drink orders taken. We knew in advance about the 45 minute cooking time, however there’s a trick to it. If you know what time you’re going to come in, you can pre-order your deep dish pizza during the day up to 4pm. With that knowledge you can plan to be there and have your pizza arrive right after you’re seated. Any deep dish pre-orders made after 4pm will be refused. So just keep that in mind.Shortly after our drinks arrived so did the dinner. We had 2 pepperoni pies for our small group and the pizza was delicious. Fresh dough, fresh sauce and cooked to perfection. The pie’s aren’t quite as thick as the deep dish pizza’s I’ve had while visiting Chicago, but that’s fine. I don’t want to be in a 2 slice food coma. I managed to eat 3 slices comfortably and took my 4th slice home. All in all, great service. I forget our servers name but he was on top of it and kept our drinks full and was very friendly. The food was outstanding as well. Since I live close by I’m looking forward to trying out their delivery in the near future.

I had to give a one star, but my experience was really awful. We arrived at Windy City and there were a total of 4 tables occupied. We order 2 sodas, a small antipasto salad and a traditional pizza. It took 35 mins to get a refill for a soda and 45 mins for the pizza. The pizza came out and the edges were hard as a rock. Clearly over cooked and very dark. After talking to our waitress, she said eat the inside of the pizza and I will have the manager come. The manager decided to inform us that the pizza was harder because we order sausage and next time try a thin crust. No apologies and then she took the pizza back. My warning to you, if you want a hard pizza, bad attitude for 25.00+ dollars and to go home hungry, eat there. Maybe, General Booth is better.

Things were chaotic which was definitely understandable on opening weekend, however, our server was pretty rude, to the point where I might have left but we had already ordered. She was clearly frustrated and talked poorly about other employees, and was very abrasive in demeanor towards us. Hopefully customer service gets better, but the pizza was very good!
