Good italian. Ever since moving from the philadelphia area to Virignia i have been searching for a good slice of pizza. WEll, i finally found the place. There are a few criteria when choosing a good pizza place1-cannot be a chain2-if i order a plain pie they know what that means3-italian must be spoken4-Must be able to order by the sliceI saw them as i was driving home from work and decided to look them up and place an order. I ordered the old standby of a large pepperoni and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I drove there to pick it up and as i walked in the door i was greeted by the normal small pizza places i grew up loving. Ther were a few diners and i saw some kids playing and i figured they had to be the owners kids as they were italian. I got to the counter said i had an order and i could hear the italian being spoken in the back. So far so good. I picked up my pie and drove home to see if it tasted as good as it smelled.I was pleasantly surprised in that it was very similar to pizza i had back home. Not to much sauce and a healthy amount of cheese and pepperoni. Crust was cooked perfectly and it wasn’t to greasy. I have been back many times since then and orderd items off the menu and have never been disappointed. My favorites are the pizza and the baked macaroni and their meatball sandwiches are pretty good too.I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good northern style pizza and not a chain.
Visited several times now. Pizza is always good. Had an entree last night for the first time… Veal Parm. It was very nice but the side spaghetti was just average… the sauce was supposed to be a meat sauce but instead was just a plain marinara… pasta wasn’t drained very well so plate was soupy with water. Was only served a few garlic knots prior to any food arriving and had to order a salad as an addition Only specials come with anything extra included and the sides and salads are a little pricey. Service was actually pretty good and the food came out in good time. Will definitely eat here again due to limited choices in this area.
If you want authentic..authentic is was you get!!. We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. the food and service was excellent! the pizza was loaded with cheese and toppings. they definitely weren’t thrifty with the quality! on a separate visit we ordered the baked macaroni. it was enough for two people and it was delicious! i can’t beat the tuesday pizza night to feed my family. it only cost $8.99 for one large topping and there is always enough to take home for lunch the next day. being raised in an italian home you usually never eat pasta out. the pasta never compares to your pasta at home! let me just say this is not the case. we would eat at mimmo’s any day of the week!
The food was ok, the service was kind of lousy. I ordered a special, and they didn’t have it, so I ordered something else. The waitress asked me if I still wanted the same dressing and I said yes. When we got the check there was a charge foe the salad which didn’t come with the meal. If I had known, I wouldn’t have ordered. I never pay for salads…I don’t east them!
