This is my go-to restaurant in Harrisonburg. It’s not downtown but is across from one of the colleges so be prepared for fall and spring crowds. There is ample seating inside and out and they have grab-and-go items up front. The food is good whole food with global taste. I wish the Greek gyro could be had with lamb but it’s not bad with hummus. The nachos, ravioli, Tom Kha Gai, and mac and jack are my personal favs. Also, anything from the breakfast menu is stellar. Go with an appetite and some friends. Want to send someone you know some, they do that too.
I love going to A Bowl of Good when I don’t feel like going downtown. They have a very manageable menu size that offers lots of options without being overwhelming. Lots of ethnic flavor to choose from! The staff is very friendly and willing to offer suggestions or explain the menu. The ability to grab soups and sandwiches from the case for lunch on the run is very handy as well. One nice feature is the fact that it connects to Artisans’ Hope, the fair trade store. It’s a great combo.
