A really great option for a cheap brunch with bottomless coffee and $2 mimosas in an array of tempting flavors! The atmosphere is awesome. It’s sort of funky with retro clocks and whatnot all over the place, which makes it cozy but fun. My biggest complaint is the number of smokers that hang out on the front porch, which means you’re likely to enter the restaurant hacking up a lung. Otherwise, a nice choice.
Lunch. Had a bowl of vegeterian potato soup and Chicken Walnut wrap. Soup had great seasoning and texture. You really won’t miss the lack of butter or cream. The warp was big – I should have only eaten half. I wish they had a soup and half sandwich option on the menu. They already have soup and salad option. I’ll eat there again.
Not what it once was, but OK. The Dodger is still an OK place to go once in a while, but it surely isn’t what it once was. Atmosphere and patronage has changed a lot since it became a bar vs. a cafe. Not as friendly and comfortable. Food is still OK but nothing special. Coffee isn’t as good as it once was; probably due to it being prepared by bartenders. Great place for college students, not so great for GLBT folks anymore.
Will be back for more!. Stopped in for a quick bite: Had a breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee. I like the ambiance of the place, but was happy to be there in the AM and not when the college kids are drinking PBR. The sandwich was on a flaky croissant and was sided with a selection of fresh fruit. The coffee was great and they kept it coming. Interesting restrooms. I hope to be back to enjoy it more soon.
Been coming here for almost a decade.. The dodger is a wonderful experience. there are many delicious vegetarian/vegan options as well as plenty of fare for carnivores. the made-from-scratch soups (at least the vegan ones) are always tasty. whether out for coffee and breakfast, a quick lunch, or drinks by night, the dodger is an excellent option in downtown harrisonburg.(and the manager is really nice too)
The dodger rocks!!. The Dodger is amazing. The food is good, the events are creative and enjoyable. Whether you’re looking for a coffee shop, a night of karoake, or some of the best parties in town, the Dodger is the place to go!
Food isnt’ the greatest, but it’s fun. I am not a huge fan of the food here, but I like their drinks and the atmosphere. I am not sure what it is about this place, but it’s a great place to grab a drink… I like the outside seating area, as well as the bathrooms 🙂
