Great brunch and fun atmosphere. If you go on Saturday or Sunday morning, prepare to wait for your food. Last time I went on a Sunday morning, it took over 30 minutes to get our food. But, it was delicious!

Bad day at Boychiks?. Usually I have a good experience at Boychiks, but when I went there on the first weekend of August, it seemed like an entirely different place. The waitress was doing too many tasks other than waiting tables, she didn’t come to check to see how everything was going, and she didn’t bother to refill my coffee after a decent amount of time. It wasn’t really busy, but I had to wait what I thought was an inordinate amount of time for our simple orders. When the orders did arrive, my meal was overcooked and barely warm.I hope that was just a bad day. I wouldn’t like see Boychiks go the way of many other restaurants in the RIchmond area–indifferent waitstaff and mediocre food.
Disappointed. Went at 11:00 on a Saturday with wife, son, his wife & two granddaughters. Seated promptly, server was great. Grands ordered pancakes, which they loved. Don’t recall what son & his wife ordered, but they seemed pleased. My wife and I ordered two different burgers which were extremely overcooked–to the point of almost being inedible. Very noisy, waitstaff constantly rushing by table to the point of annoyance, lots of show meeting and seating guests, Claims to be New York in Short Pump/Glen Allen–very glad I don’t live in New York!
Your only choice. It’s not Lindy’s, but it is the only thing left in Richmond that gives you a deli experience since the New York Deli (the original, not crap successor) and Boulevard Deli. Great experienced staff that smoothly handles crowd with a smile. Friendly owner. Good food. What’s not to like?
Its Innsbrook. Cupertinos New York bagels and Boychicks are as close to NY as it gets. Compared to the rest of the area they are great. If the locals weren’t so lame as to their food tastes there would be more decent places to eat an egg and bagel . For the rest of you complainers go to einsteins and have a soft southern bagel with a microwaved egg on it … forget the cooked onions and bacon … Virginia you cant handle a NEW YORK bagel … or a decent diner anyway .
Good Food, Great Place. I ate breakfast after running a 10k. Pancakes were awesome along with eggs and bacon. Friendly wait staff. Good coffee. Quick service and food arrived hot with generous portion. Two pieces of my bacon were burned to a crisp, and were happily exchanged for the chewy bacon I enjoy. I saw a negative comment on the Matzoh Ball soup below – they are crazy. I ordered a bunch of Matzoh Ball soup for a seder I held and people could not stop raving about it. Firm large Matzoh balls in a delicious chicken soup that any Jewish mother would love to call her own. Can’t speak to the guy who got rushed out – but I’ve never seen that happen. If you’re looking for gourmet look elsewhere, but for good food at a reasonable price, Boychik’s is hard to beat.
