Chadar and Elephant Thai by VCU are my favorite thai restaurants in Richmond, Va. At Chadar, the pad thai is great, curries and basil dishes terrific, and the whole crispy flounder in ginger sauce is large and wonderful! The spicy noodle soup is great but very spicey so beware!

Quite a good find. There are plenty of Thai restaurant in Richmond, some good, some toxic, so you had better be good to survive. Chadar Thai is a very solid Thai restaurant. The portions are much larger than one would expect and the prices are very reasonable. My only issue is that unless you ask, the default spice level is mild. If you like your Thai a little spicy, be sure to tell them what you want. We will definitely come back.

Fantastic. Was surprised by portion. Red Curry amazing. Good service.

This is my wife’s staple take home dinner when I travel, which means great leftovers for me…The standard Pad Thai American Hot is just great

Fried rice was not bad very lage portion. I expected to get more than 3 pieces of shrimp for the price I paid for dinner.

Not Bad. Pretty good Thai restaurant although some things are a little too sweet for my taste. Excellent fresh spring roll but the peanut sauce was way too sweet for me. The Tom Yum soup with coconut milk (can’t remember the name) was had good flavor but was too sweet as well. Entrees also had very good flavor although I ordered mine American hot and my wife ordered her’s Thai hot and I think they got them mixed up. No big deal because they kept my water glass full.

Your New Favorite Restaurant !. ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS! Outshines all other Thai restaurants in Richmond by far. Delicious food, attentive staff, cozy atmosphere. This is my favorite restaurant in Richmond 🙂 My husband and I have tried almost everything on the menu and are more than satisfied every time.
